Landscape with a Corpse

This was an interesting activity because I've always had some idea of how I was going to die. As a child my favorite shows were detective shows or shows that involved law enforcement. So my goal in life is to be in law enforcement, so naturally (although the chances are low), I aways assumed that I was going to be shot, while I'm on a job or while I'm at home ever since I was a child. People think this is a sad thing to say or to even consider but I grew up with the belief that once it's time to go, it's time to go. So as Mahatma Gandhi once said, "Live as if you were to die tomorrow".

I created a scene where I was shot in the head, while at home. Although I could have done much better, sadly I was in a very tight time crunch. If I were to do this again at some point in the future, I would take more time adding more blood and adding some blood on the walls behind me because blood splatters.

I believe talking about death is important within college students. We all will eventually face death and or eventually deal with death of a love one sadly. Having a course on death can be helpful if they talk about the 7 stages of grief and or how to help others when going though this process. I also have gone though the 7 stages of grief last fall. Although I have been through plenty of deaths in my family, the death of a very close friend last fall is the one that impacted me the most. Taking a class about death, and talking about it could have helped.
