AOTW: Mahsa Soroudi

Mahasa Soroudi is an Iranian artist who currently resides in the United States. She was raised in a family who were moderate muslims. Both her parents were interested in the arts, and her father has an art academy in Tehran. Mahasa Soroudi mentioned that Tehran has a lot of art galleries, and some people had garage and private galleries.

Mahasa Soroudi's art is interesting. Compared to the previous artists that we have gone over in this class, she is quite possibly one of my favorite. In her photographs, she uses somewhat of a soft tone filter on it, to make it look some what more appealing. Her photographs include colors and pastel colors (due to the filters).

It is interesting how she used plants as a way to describe how she and people alike must grow and adapt. Although she is still trying to adapt to her surroundings, the message behind her plants are one that many people especially in the United States can relate to. Like plants, we must all adapt to change and we may not grow exactly the same, we will end up being a better version of ourselves once we adapt. Although I am not stating that a person must change and or adapt, I believe it is better to mix the old you with a little or a lot of the new you.
