Activity of the Week: FLAG
For this activity, I decided to create this flag. The center of the flag is the on current Los Angeles flag, which represents Los Angeles. On the right top of the crest, represents the Great Seal of the United States which has 13 stars. On the top left corner of the crest is the current flag of California. On the bottom left corner of the crest, is the Coat of Arms of Mexico, while on the left bottom of the crest is the Coast Arms of Spain. The colors on the flag I created is intentional. Green, white, orange, yellow, red, black, and blue are the colors that are in all flags across the country. The lines are also positioned in a way that represents the peace sign.
The message that I am trying to send with this flag is pretty simple. I used the colors that are used in every country because Los Angeles is a very diverse area, where many people from different countries who come here with a dream. I also used the peace symbol because I believe that Los Angeles is a relatively peaceful place to live in (depending on where a person lives and or does in his or her life). Los Angeles is a place where people come together from many different backgrounds, and end up working together to create a unique city to live in.
